Uzbekistan is home to some of the oldest cities in the world. As it is situated between two rivers, the Amu-Darya and the Sir-Darya, it was considered as the crossroads of the famed Silk Road, a lucrative trading route that ran through the center of Uzbekistan. The area has always been a haven for culture and for religion. In fact, Zoroastrianism, which predates Christianity and Islam, began in what is now called Uzbekistan, and this religion is still practiced worldwide.

Quite a bit of technology existed early in civilization, and the people of Uzbekistan were involved in building and improving irrigation systems, weaving silk, maintaining an armory, growing and cultivation cotton and various types of grain, grapes, and other fruits. Those who had knowledge of these cultural achievements were held in high regard.

Uzbekistan is once again a popular destination for travelers to Central Asia. There are so many interesting places to go and things to see that you may have a difficult time choosing what attractions to visit. Uzbekistan travel is a lot like stepping into another world. Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, presents an awesome mix of ancient and modern architecture: from centuries old Zangiota mausoleum and Khast Imam ensemble to Tashkent metro, the magnificent underground artwork in itself, and the TV Tower, the tallest building in Central Asia.

Samarkand has the Afrasiab Museum, which is filled with archeological items that were found during the time between the 4th and the 13th centuries, A.C. Bukhara has many mosques and mausoleums to check out, such as the Magoki-Attari, the Kalyan, and the Djami mosques and the Samanids, the Chashma-Ayub mausoleums. Khiva is unique in that the entire town was declared as a “historical monument of world significance” by UNESCO. Every building and attraction in this town has been preserved in the style that was in use when the town was established 2500 years ago. Khiva can boast of having more minarets in all of Asia.

In many Central Asian counties those who arrange the marriage visit homes of future bride on behalf of groom and his family and propose marriage. Future of young family depends on groom’s character, his parent’s and relative’s life experiences and the marriage arranger herself. By taking the responsibility of match making person has to know everything about bride’s and groom’s families and as well as bride and groom themselves otherwise it is considered a big sin to arrange an unhappy marriage for both families. Those people must understand that well being and future of the young family is in their hands.

In ancient Central Asia the match makes couldn’t come into brides home to propose the marriage without informing the bride’s family. The match makes or sometimes mother of the groom came early in the morning when everyone was sleeping to the bride’s home and swept the floor near the entrance door to the bride’s home that would show the bride’s parents that there is a family who is interested in proposing marriage to their daughter. Next bride’s family would start to prepare for the visit of the match maker, by trying to find out from which family the groom is and learn more about the groom and his family. Parents of the bride did not agree to the marriage from first visit of the match makes even if they were in favor of it. First bride’s family had to show its’ pride and give an impressions of their daughter as hard to get bride, which would bring brides’ and her family’s status higher.

In present time the process of match making became easier in some parts of Central Asia, young women and men meet each other in their own and then ask their parents for permission to the marriage or their parents or immediate family members play the role of match makers. They tell each other about their families, relatives and other background information. A lot of attention is paid to how neighbors describe the bride or groom and references from school or work.

Bride and groom are allowed to have few dates before giving their final agreement for the engagement. Those dates are very important as they give young people an opportunity to find out more information about each other, such as their views on different aspects of life, their personalities and interests. Based on those dates they are able to make a better decision about the possibility of future marriage.

Asia has been in many wars and has a blood history. A little after 2500 BC one of the most ancient civilizations that we know was Asia. Asia is a continent that has been very important to the world. The first traces of civilization began in Mesopotamia, a part of Asia. This Civilization is known as Sumeria. Like some other civilization, Sumeria started as a separate city. They built great temples and strong army. This was headed by Sargon. After his death this civilization fell apart. Another interesting discovery was the China. The Chinese put a new way of life. They discovered lot of new things. The best example is the great wall of China. The only man made structure visible from space. Really those people are putting new examples in front of everyone. China is covering large area of Asia.

Asia was having tough time in 20th Century. We can not forget the great wars like Gulf War, World War II and Vietnam War. During world War II, there was great loss to Asia. Japan the part of Asia Continent suffered a lot in that War. They were bombing by US two times and the bad effects of that still can be seen. They had to pay a great amount that time. Like this Asia had many hidden facts about it. It is not possible to bind this whole thing in words. Asia being a big continent is always the centre of attraction. Many tourists come to visit many historical places in Asia. They explore on culture, literature and other aspects here. Really Asia is having many magical facts hidden.

Because of its history and ancient culture, Central Asia become an exciting travel destination. A memorable bit of Central Asia history involves the trade route called Silk Road. It connected Asia with Europe and the Mediterranean, as well as Africa. Silk and other luxuries from China and India moved along this network, enroute to the Mediterranean Sea.

Bukhara is a popular destination for Central Asia travel. Located on the Silk Road, Bukhara is the fifth-largest city in Uzbekistan, and one of the oldest cities in Central Asia. There is much to see and do here, with many of the attractions constructed in the Middle Ages. Well worth seeing are the Trading Domes, built in the 16th century. Trade was very popular in Bukhara during this time, and the dynasty of the Sheibanids built these domes. Each was named for the type of merchandise that was sold beneath its roof.

The Kalian Minaret structure was built in 1127, and many think of it as the symbol of the city. The first one collapsed and was rebuilt of burnt brick and plaster mixed with camel’s milk. Necessary repairs have changed the structure very little in the eight centuries it has been standing. It’s hollow on the inside, and has a foot bridge that allows you to go up inside of the tower. The Ismoil Samoniy mausoleum is a historical monument that was built during the time that the Samanids dynasty ruled the city, from around 892 until 907. It was originally meant to be a grave for the patriarch of the family, but in time became the final resting place of all the Samanids.

The Ark Citadel is not only a fortress but also the residence of the rulers of Bukhara. Inside its walls were many of the structures needed in order to rule the city — palaces and temples, offices, barracks, stables, warehouses, workshops, a mint for making money, an arsenal, and a prison, too! It was destroyed and rebuilt many times during the centuries it has been standing. Today, there is a museum on the inside.

Samarkand is the second largest city in Uzbekistan, and it is more than 25 centuries old. There is a wide range of ancient monuments in Samarkand, and the architecture is absolutely gorgeous! Both the interior and the exterior of many buildings are beautifully decorated with glazed brick, mosaic tiles, and intricately carved marble. Registan Square is the center of the city, and is resplendent with this decorative Islamic art form. You must also see the Mausoleum of Tamerlane, with its intricate mosaics and its world famous cantaloupe-shaped dome of blue. The conqueror Tamerlane is at rest here beneath a huge slab of jade that is more than likely the largest jade stone in the world.

Issyk Kul means ‘hot lake’ is the second highest navigable lake in the world, and a popular spot for those who enjoy Central Asia travel. Due to the winds, climate, and probably some sort of thermal activity, this lake never freezes, even in the cold of winter. Surrounded by the snow capped Tien Shan mountains, this beautiful, sparkling clear blue lake has resorts and hotels located on its North side, and sandy beaches for all to enjoy.

Family in Central Asia starts with match making arrangements. A person who knows well both bride’s and groom’s family takes responsibility of arranging their marriage. Sometimes up to 3 or 4 people participate in this very important task. Most of the time it is an elder woman who has the wisdom gained from prior experiences of arranging marriages, less commonly it is done by the parents of two young people.

People of Central Asia have a saying, “those who have a bride, have the caprices”, marriage arrangers visit bride’s homes several times before getting an agreement for the proposed marriage. Then marriage arrangers return to groom’s home, they are greeted with a question, “wolf or fox?” If they brought the good news the answer is “wolf”, and if the bride has not agreed to the marriage the answer is “fox”.

Match makers visit the desired bride’s home several times in order to obtain her agreement to the marriage. When the bride gives her positive answer to the marriage, the match maker “breaks the bread” to announce the engagement.

There are many countries that form a part of the continent of Asia like the Islamic nations and the Southeastern countries of Nepal, India and Bangladesh. Asia has the largest land mass in the whole world and is a home to a majority of human population that is residing in the world. Most of the densely populated countries of the world are situated in Asia. There are a large number of countries that constitute this continent and as a result it is home to a wide variety of cultures and traditions. People of Asia are very strongly attached to their homelands and find it very painful to separate from their native countries.

Asian people are known all over the world for their strong cultural values and intelligent minds. This continent has given birth to many famous scientists, celebrities and politicians. Although this continent does not boast of many developed countries, many developing countries within this continent are on the threshold of becoming developed. Asia as a continent was initially under the colonial rule for a very long time except for the countries of Japan or Russia. Many nations like India, China, Pakistan and Afghanistan have suffered the brunt of oppressive colonial rule by Europeans and Americans for a very long period of time.

Once known as the land of the spices, the food of the Thais, Filipinos, Vietnamese, and Indonesians are among the most famous exotic creations. Much of the identity of South East Asia lies on the different food that come from unique, yet common backgrounds following the influences of Indian, Chinese, and the European colonizers along with the local flavor.

The food has both common and binding ingredients. These include coconut milk, lemon grass, sugar, basil, fish paste, and chili. To an outsider’s taste buds, this food is described as spicy, tangy and sweet, all mixing together to present a unique taste. Curry, which is an Indian food, has evolved to be a staple dish in South East Asia.

This article explains some interesting information about Asia, and if you’re interested, then this is worth reading, because you can never tell what you don’t know.

Asia is the largest continent in the world by a considerable margin, and it is rich in natural resources, such as petroleum and iron.

As a matter of fact, the only difference between you and Asia experts is time. If you’ll invest a little more time in reading, you’ll be that much nearer to expert status when it comes to Asia.

Asia is one of the most extraordinary and diverse continent in terms of people and travel destinations. As it consists of many countries (about 55 countries) then you will be able to imagine how vast the territory of this region. Because It covers about 10% of the entire Earth’s total surface area, or about 30% of its land area, so the whole area of this continent is range from the mountains around the Black Sea in the west, to the snow fields of Siberia in the east and it contains more than 60% of the world’s human population

Asia is one of the seven continents in the world. But even though it is the seventh continent but it is the largest continent among all. As you can see that its border stretches from Japan in the East through Russia in the West, which across about 34 countries on its path. Apart from that, in terms of population, Asia has about more than half of entire of the world’s population, which mostly they are in China and India. Apart from that, not only in terms of number of population, they also have wide range of human races, which about 1,400 human races living in Asia.

However, there is an interesting point in terms of what people trying to re-establish new territory of Asia, that is many of geographers try to take a further study and make new conclusions that there are really is no definite dividing line between Asia from the west and Europe to the East. As a result of this theory, the new idea of continent called Eurasia has been defined, of which is known as the largest continuous in the world and has population of around 5 billion and this is more than 70% of the world population.

Therefore, there are plenty of travel destinations for you to choose, I can say that it almost have everything that correspond to your vacation style. Wide range from the desert ruins and modern malls of the Middle East to the beach bungalows and jungle treks of South-East Asia lone Thailand and Indonesia to the mega cities and hi-technological capitals of East Asia in the United Arab Emirates and there are a lot more attractions waiting for you in the rest of this beautiful continent such as in Central Asia, East Asia, Middle East, South Asia, South-East Asia, Russia and the Caucasus. You can visit tons of travel website to find out more about these superb travel destinations.
